The Tobruk defence, a ring mounted machine gun could be fitted and the gunner/observer had a speaking tube to keep in contact with the inside of the bunker and could shout down and explain what is going on outside.

This is the aerial slot, a specially designed bunker aerial fitted into the slot and could be extended or retracted as need be. Just because there is a slot, it does not mean that there was an aerial fitted. But in my mind, if there is an earthing strip in place. Then there was a probability that the aerial was fitted. You can just see a rusted earthing strip.

Inside the first room. I noticed that this room has a gas filtration system built in. That is not standard, so this bunker may have been designed as maybe a crew room and the second room an ammunition room.

The yellow aluminium filter assembly on the wall above the pump. It held a cotton filter. On the main picture some broken aluminium can be seen above the filtration system.

The second passageway. I did not enter as it was full of Maisy towns glass and rubbish dumped there over the years. The door here was a 434P01 heavy steel door. It comes in two parts, top & bottom. A small window in the top door.

The view of the batterie and you can just see Utah Beach museum and the Red house.
Wn05 la Madeleine plage, K.V.U.Gruppe Marcouf, K.V.Gruppe Cotentin Ost.
This is the view that would have been seen from the watchtower of Utah Beach or Wn05 and they would have fired their four Kannons on the beach.

There was a wooden water tower, built to hold water fro the building process. It could and seems was used as a fire control post. Mirador - Watchtower.
