Vill03 Deauville villa Strassburger
Near the Hippodrome de la Touques is a lovely big house, villa Strassburger. It must have been important with the occupying forces for them to have built a tunnel system and a Vf bunker. (Either that or it was a pre war French air-raid shelter). This is all I know so far about it.

This was the home of Baron Henri de Rothschild a lover of horse racing. He built this lovely house in the Auge style. In 1924 an American Ralph Beaver Strassburger bought it and it is now owned by the town of Deauville.

An air photo with the photographic lab workers finger print sitting over the house. There is an air-raid tunnel running somewhere from its cellars and it may run out to what looks like a bunker of some sort to the east of the house.
There is a small video clip about the tunnels click here to see it.

This is the bunker, now completely built over showing a wide entrance, a Tobruk and possibly a square escape hatch to the left. This is how I see it??
