Falaise d'Amont
The town was circled with defences, Et01 & Et03 had gun casemates covering the rear entrances into the town and on the sea side in cliffs to the N/E were tunnels in the chalk and casemates for a 5cm KwK & a 7.5cm Pak 40 plus many other machine gun and pill boxes.

This is a very early occupation photo. There seems no beach defence yet and no armed men. The Chapel on the top of the hill is still there. It was pulled down due to it being able to be seen from far out to sea.

At the far end of the town in the cliff can be seen a large repair where a 5cm KwK L60 & a 7.5cm Pak 40 was placed in a concrete emplacement.

The larger bunker was a 5cm KwK L60 casemate. The small slot was to allow the used shell cases to be pushed down a tube and out of the bunker. Although

Next to the casemate is a sort of pill box. Few of these pillboxes remain along the French coast and look very like British types.

Flame thrower on the Atlantikwall.
Beam of fire from a flame thrower on a cliff near Etretat with a loop stand and armoured wall. Not only the Wehrmacht planned to use flame throwers for anti-landing purposes.
The men seem to be wearing special overalls.
Automatic electric fired flame throwers used all along the Atlantikwall..
