Advanced Landing Ground A1. Before D-day many airfields were being constructed in the South of England so that fighters & fighter bombers could operate with the minimum of equipment & personnel.
Needs Oar Point ALG, Lymington ALG, Selsey ALG, Merston ALG and Funtington ALG. These are the ones I have details on my website. Other main wartime airfields were also used and if you go to the menu and South of England many of the airfields bordering the English Channel were used in some way or the other.
