Above the word Railway Embankment on the map is a blue square, this was the site of the first Pill Box proper. Most of the Pill Boxes used in Blandford would have been the same design and built by a local builders firm or the Home Guard Unit in the area. There was also one at the southern extreme of the main road bridge over the Stour and another at the northern end.

All three have now been demolished.
