Marked out are the two parking places. The northerly one can only be seen from the road and the southerly one is a short walk through the woods.

Looking up at the towers structure.
Bofors antiaircraft gun towers. The towers are not joined and have about a 30cm gap. The reason for this is as the gun fired the second tower with the guns observation and ranging equipment, did not vibrate too much.

Now the northerly tower. I have managed to get closer to take this picture but it was with permission. It can be seen quite easily from the road.
As you see I have superimposed two Bofors AA guns to show what they may have looked like.

The towers were built to protect the Royal Naval Cordite factory, where an enormous amount of high explosives were being manufactured.
