Three this one was totally destroyed. Full of ammunition and some French workers were smoking. Thats it BANG.

Also the same picture in DEFE 15/190 file, states that :
"The view of casemate No.4 taken from the top of an adjoining
casemate. The 15" gun can be seen in the shadow in the centre of the casemate wall.
Buildings in the foreground were used as stores, messes, etc. and are mostly wrecked
by demolition. The trees in the foreground are artificial, being saplings brought from elsewhere and held upright by wooden supports".

It looks as though the explosion, although catastrophic, was not as bad as it looks today. When the metal was removed by scrap dealers, I am sure more damage was done.
It looks as though its just hovering.
