Gun room, when the gun fires and the case is ejected from the breach, it is removed and placed down a chute. Usually there are two chutes, one each side. Then a manhole is here to remove the fired cases at a safe time to send them back for re using.

A heavy steel ring would have been fitted into the concrete base, then the gun lowered onto it and bolted down.

The five squares in the concrete on both sides of the embrasure, is where large wooden blocks would be cut and placed and then two steel armoured plates would have been bolted on with five large bolts. All this to add protection to the bunker.

On our way out of the sand dunes, we passed a garden. Inside was a concrete bunker of some type, the wall looked Todt built and reinforcing mesh used as a fence.
