Ra143 Plage de Longchamp est is the beach at Saint-Lunaire a favoured watering hole of British tourists at the turn of the century.

First there were the trenches and then the R105c machine gun bunker was built and later on the R667 casemate for the 5cm KwK Pak. Trenches ran around the back of the bunkers and also cut through the road into the adjacent garden. Two 'T' Tobruk's were placed being the casemates. Inland we found a bunker that to us looked like an R502 but the Gruppe bunker that is stated here is an R501 quite a bit smaller? There are two R612 casemates also stated here, I cannot find any evidence of them. There was a long anti-tank ditch running along the rear of the beach.

R667 casemate. A large concrete glasses plate at the front, a flanking wall to cover the embrasure from being shot at from the seaward side.

The guns would have fired straight along the beach. There was another R667 at the other end of the beach at Ra146 and two 7.5cm Kannon in R611 casemates in Ra145..

In this space was a large steel dome used as observation via a centrally mounted periscope and four or six viewing points.

There would have been many beach defences and mines along this part of the coast. The other end of the beach was Ra146 with two 5cm KwK guns.

Plan of the beach defence. Somebody was rather worried about this beach. I believe there were to be two more R612 casemates with 2 x 7.5cm F.K . in Ra143 but I cannot find any evidence??

Set in the suburbs of Saint-Lunaire an area that was starting to be populated by quite large holiday homes in the 1900's, this plot was empty so maybe that is why a bunker was built here.

.It feels like the dimensions of an R502 but I am not too sure as the aerial slot and the periscope are in the wrong place and there is supposed to be an R501 Gruppe bunker.
