RAF Long Newnton, Communal Site
Site No.4 is in the trees on the left, I believe there is very little to find. Sergeants, Officers and Airmen's quarters with Ablutions & Drying blocks, Picket Post, Prophylactic room and Latrines. The quarters were Laing huts, 'S' Seco hutting and all others were TB. There was also a ''Stent'' shelter (I have never heard of this type) and an EWS 15,000gal water tank in case of fire.
We go to the right.

Quite a large building. As the war went on and there seemed to be no real threat of gas, the decontamination side of these building was run down and used as either stores or as extra ablutions.

These huts like many more all across the country were used post war by squatters. Then the local councils took most over for council housing.

This could power the whole of the airfield site and communal sites if there was a mains power cut. Depending on the power needed there could be one to three motors and dynamos inside a Set House, here I have not looked inside but there may have only been one.

After the ARG walk in 2026, we were all very unsure what these two buildings are. One theory is they could be senior Officers living accommodation.
