This small attached room uses wooden roof trusses and had a coal fired pot boiler against the end wall.

Gas decontamination centre was designed to allow the treatment of sufferers of a gas attack on an airfield. This was taken very seriously by the RAF at the time. Unwounded would enter the left door and wounded the right. There would have been railings either side of the path to allow blind casualties to feel their way in.

The ducting went out above the door with the electrics on the right hand wall with the plinth on the floor.

The boiler house door & the part jutting out is the airlock exit for patients. On the roof is a very large water tank. Lots of water would be needed to treat gassed patients.
