Wn201c making the third Wn of Seeadler the defence of StP Cap Lévi.

Allied very low level air photos of the light house and the radar station behind. This radar was a Coast watcher type to see sea targets and engage them with batteries ashore behind Cap Lévi. To defend the Cap the four Wn's - Widerstandnest were made into a larger StP - Stützpunkt.
Here its Wn201c, just the light house and point. There almost seems no added bunkers/defences just what we have found. A road block and an unterstand. Of which I am unsure off.

This is the position of the items found. From memory I thought there was something like a small ammunition niche by the lighthouse??.
First the Unterstand which we know very little of and second the road block.

The light has been modified possibly when it was automated and a newer top was put on.

The road block, two concrete blocks set into the ground with steel rings to hold a heavy chain across the road or a large steel hawser cable.

Another method is to use Belgian gates or Element 'C'. To close the gap. The Belgian gate has fittings each side that can be mated up and a large steel pin pushed through them and that locates and locks the gates together.

Plan of a Belgian gate with: -

c - the locating sockets to hold a steel pin through them when joined to another gate or obstacle.
a - steel rope to also secure them if the gap is slightly too wide.
r - 2 wheels to allow the gate to be towed and manoeuvred into place.
x - the rear roller instead of wheels and it made it easier for a horse to pull.

A steel ring now hammered down, but would have stuck out and a chain passed through. A crude method, but it may hold up traffic and give a defender a bit more time to react.

I have no idea what this was, some say an Unterstand or small bunker. It has four sets of four bolts set into the concrete to possibly hold an aerial assembly, maybe.
