INFORMATION:

On the right is the road looking South towards the Airfield of RAF Warmwell and continuing on to Weymouth Bay, a potential Landing Beach.

The left hand picture is the first of the Five Bridges over the Flood plains of the River Frome.

The ditch that this bridge crosses I think could go back to Saxon Times. Further to the left it gets much deeper and has a high bank on both sides. Either defensive or the boundary of a very important land owner possibly Woodsford Castle Estate. It also would have made a very effective Antitank Ditch in 1940.
