INFORMATION:

Across the road from the grain hangar No.3 in woodland is this Temporary Brick hut. This was Gas chamber 1 & 2. Gas chambers were used to test gas masks, by setting off a tear gas cartridge and walking through with gas mask fitted, the airman and soldiers would then know if they worked.

The first thing US para's did in Normandy was to dispense with them to make their loads lighter.
