INFORMATION:
During the war there were two timber 'pylons' on it that we local yokels understood were direction finding aerials, used in conjunction with a similar installation at Poling, north of Littlehampton, about 15 miles away.
later [during the cold war period?] two more appeared, the huts were within a barbed wire protected compound, one could see lights blinking away on control panels through the windows. Today one metal and one timber pylon remain,covered in dishes and used by mobile phone companies.
