Eisenpfahel barbed wire post, there are many here and some probably in their original positions.
I have walked these fields many times and twice 2022 and 2025. I have managed to walked to the far end to Cap d'Antifer, Sud. On both occasions the field with this radar set was guarded by young Bullocks.

Vf Unterstand, an early design, 1940/41 pos. That were built all along the coast, before the main bunker construction started.
They can be made in any length and used as command posts, barracks, in fact any use a building like this is needed for.
This time 2025 it was very wet and you can see its flooded.

This is an Allied intelligence photo of a "Wasserman-S Klein Heidelberg" or "Chimney" (Allied code word) being erected. A delicate job as it is a 30m x 2.5m steel tube and probably very heavy. There is a crane on its top to lift into place the aerial frames.

Aerial details from AIR 20/1641.
Looking at the first picture, on the left is the "Chimney". The base was fitted into its socket at the base and it swiveled about halfway up. Also its design was to point towards a CH signal, so it only had to swivel a few degrees to align with the CH in England.

"Auerhahn" Cap d'Antifer, Sud
The system worked by listening to the British 'Chain Home' radars, that sent out a massive signal. A little bit like switching a light on. "Wasserman-S Klein Heidelberg" listened to the broadcast (did not transmit) and watched aircraft, lit up by CH. Then computed their position and with the aid of Würzburg radars close by, tracked incoming aircraft.
