StP 'Norbert' Rue Robelin

North/West of Oye-Plage is the Batterie 2./Heers Küsten Artillery Abteilung 827. An army (Heer) Coastal (Küsten) batterie, two kilometers from the coast it defended.

Batterie 2./H.K.A.A. 827. 1 x Doppel flanking R219 casemate. 2 x R600b Ringstand for 5cm KwK. 24 x Feldm bunker (some are Wellblech bunkers). 6 x Geschützstellung (open emplacement). 6 x 15.5cm K.418(f). 1 x 7.62cm F.K.17(t) in the R219. 2 x 5cm KwK. 3 x Officers. 26 x NCO's. 106 x Troops.

The battery runs parallel to the D119 and there are many more bunkers around the area that we did not find but Google Earth/Remonterletemps can now show up. When we visited StP Norbert there was no Google Earth. A - Vf observation post. B - Wellblech personnel shelters. C - R600b KwK gun emplacement. D - Vf ammunition bunker. Observation bunker E on the plan : the observation bunker with wide reaching views across the fields almost to the coast. In front of this bunker is a Ringstand base for a 15.5cm K418(f) gun. There were five more to the left.

Hold fast bolts for the gun racer The guns racer is the a piece of metal that the trails of the gun rested on and ran around the emplacement.

Barracks Across the road on the south side is a barrack building.

Moving west along the D119 Right hand room with a door to the left hand room and a window in the rear wall. Marks on the walls could be bunk bed fittings.

Barrack 1 In the centre is a Wellblech bunker and then two brick buildings are built on the sides. The roof is of reinforced concrete.

Wellblech 2 The two doors face each other, so the trench system would have joined them up.

A view from above a dopple flanking R219 casemate. Now we get to the last item, a dopple flanking casemate. A 7.62cm F.K.17(t) field Kannon would sit inside and be able to fire east and west. The flanking walls were their to protect the embrasures and could not be hit by direct fire. There are four flanking walls to protect the embrasures and flanking walls for the entrance.
