Set behind the gun line which is situated on a sand dune, this fire control post built to look like a church tower had to be able to look over and in front of the guns and out to sea at its targets. Just before its inevitable capture the foundations at the front were under mined to allow it to collapse, but as you see it now leans like Pisa.
