Ra150 Le Nessay

A small promontory at Saint-Briac-sur-Mer a lovely little town ideal for a holiday.

The promontory at Saint-Briac-sur-Mer covering the estuary of the River Le Frémur.

Château du Nessay is built on the site of a castle that dates back to the twelfth century but it remains a chapel. It was a guard during the Revolution and a prison. This building within the grounds which where the gallows of Justice, was destroyed in the mid seventeenth century, the ancient lords being deprived of their prerogatives, in 1656, in favour of the Seigneurie de Pontbriand. The current castle was built in 1886 by Count Maurice de Villebresme. (Wikipedia)

Now used by the town for administration and hosts 65 students plus their companions from kindergarten to high school, in class or in discovery stay for holidays. (vacances)
