RAF Condover, Shropshire was an all around training station. It at times catered for both Fighter and bomber training.
The initial photo is showing pilots of No. 401 Squadron, Royal Canadian Air Force (RCAF), posing next to a Supermarine Spitfire on August 19, 1942, during the Dieppe Raid (Operation Jubilee). Spitfires were based here and its a good picture.
