Personally I am not too happpy about the Byline other than that it is a very reasonable account of what happened.

Plan based on a 1947 air photo. There were at least three machine guns, Serverloh's was an M.G.34, there was also an M.G.42 and an M.G.08 this was a 1908 water cooled machine gun firing at a much slower rate but still deadly in the right hands. There were two R669 casemates and an R667 under construction.
