RAF Wroughton test butt

Cannon/machine gun test butt. Not too sure about the cannon though, ricochets would go all over the place. Well you may not believe me and plenty don't, but it actually was used to test aircraft guns. It is hard to believe, the grass was much better then and easier for an aircraft to be towed up here. They would be sat on the concrete plinth and tied down and the guns fired. Probably only one round at a time, just to prove the guns wok and not to aim them. I have no idea how long it was used for.
